This is one of Lladro's super rare pieces that was initially manufactured in 1963. It has a hand etched Lladro marking which has always made me wonder whether this one is a pre-production piece, as the marking is pre-1960. In any event, I have had the pleasure of owning it for a very long time. With less space with moving though, I had to divest myself of my 180 piece collection. This is the only one I have left (besides The Helmsman which I will never sell).
It is in wonderful condition without any chips, cracks or crazing. I will point out that behind the right front paw there is a small dab of "glue" and weird indent. I'm sure this was all part of the initial manufacturing process (as Lladro's quality program wasn't as stringent back then), but I wanted to make sure that I pointed it out. It is very hard to see with the naked eye. I tried to take magnified pics of the whole piece so you can eagle eye it.
