Lovely Lladro Figurine, My Best Friend, Boy with Knapsack and Dog, #5401, C240. This lovely Lladro porcelain figurine shows a young boy holding a knapsack sitting with his faithful dog at his feet. The boy has his important belongings in the sack but has put his sling shot in his back pocket, just in case. The boy is looking down at his canine companion with a sad, almost pouty expression; even the puppy is sitting quietly and resignedly next to his friend.

On the back of where the boy is seated is "N-332". On the bottom of the figurine is the following: the blue Lladro mark which I believe includes the date 1986 (although it is hard to read), "5401" impressed in the porcelain, C-240 deeper in the porcelain and three impressed marks which I believe to be the artist's cipher (sorry the marks can't really be seen in the photo but they are to the right of the hole). The figurine stands 6.5" tall by 3.5" wide (at the base) by 3.25 deep (at the base). I believe this figurine has been retired by Lladro so is a little harder to find. I consider the piece to be in excellent condition; I could find no chips, cracks, glaze crackles or marks of any kind.

Even though it appears perfect, I didn't list it as mint since something can be heard inside the figurine when it is lifted. I have no idea what is moving around inside or whether the figurine was made that way. This charming little boy and dog would add a delicate shade of pathos to any décor.
